In the PE department, we work hard to offer pupils a wide variety of learning pathways and extra curricular opportunities.
Curriculum
Our BGE curriculum is based on a concepts model where pupils are able to develop their Cognitive Skills, Personal Qualities, Physical Competencies and Physical Fitness through a range of learning experiences including Aesthetics, Net Games, Possession Games, Outdoor Learning, Athletics, Striking and Fielding Games and Target Games.
Our Senior Phase courses allow pupils to develop their knowledge and understanding of Factors Impacting Performance and to demonstrate their Performance Skills across a range of activities. There are opportunities to learn at National 4, National 5 and Higher level.
We also provide opportunities for our young people to develop their Skills for Life and Work through our Leadership courses. These are completed via a multi sports model or through Dance and involve pupils learning about the skills and qualities of effective leadership and putting their own leadership into practice through project work.
Extra-Curricular
Extra-curricular opportunities include Basketball, Dance, Football, Rugby, Netball, Trampolining, Gymnastics, Fitness, Table Tennis and Badminton.
We are always looking for new ideas so if there is anything you would like to see on offer then just let us know!
