S6 pupil, Abby Edge, put her dancing skills to the test in recent weeks to compete in both the Scottish and the World Championship Street Dance competitions. Abby is a dancer at L School of Dance, where she trains and competes with the ‘Unique Soulz’ competition team. At the start of the summer the troop took top spot at the Scottish Championships in Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall. Competing in the U-18 Intermediate category, the group impressed with their energetic and skilful routines.
Hoping to build on their national win, ‘Unique Soulz’ didn’t have far to travel for this year’s World Championships. The venue for this year’s competition was the SECC, Glasgow, where teams from around the world gathered to battle it out for top spot. While Abby and her teammates did not take the crown, they did place third and were presented with bronze medals for their efforts.
Abby has been dancing since she was just two years old and is a dance ambassador for the school. Staff and pupils congratulate Abby for her fantastic achievements.
